The outdoors doesn't always feel like it's for everyone. Girls Who Hike Virginia started as a simple idea—create a space where women+ could find each other, find the trail, and find confidence they didn't know they had. What it became is something much bigger than any of us expected.
As cofounder and board president, I've been inside this organization from day one. The brand, the website, the content, the visual identity—I built it all alongside the community it represents.

Most outdoor spaces were designed by and for a narrow set of people. Women+, particularly those from underrepresented communities, often don't see themselves reflected in outdoor marketing, leadership, or spaces. GWHVA set out to change that—not with a campaign, but with a community.
